I am thoroughly enjoying the reviews of this work. Pretty much anyone who has been in love has grown aloof of the significant other from time to time. The neat thing about Writers Pub is that there are so many significant others we are writing to, and so there will always be the possibility of someone being either more or less critical and more or less praiseworthy. So, while it can be like falling in love, it can as in the case of Writers Pub be like becoming friends who share an interest in creative writing.... |

The concept was interesting but I'm not sure this qualifies as a story. It's more like verbose poetry. ... |

I can relate to the sentiments here, as can a lot of other people, I'm certain; the love of writing and "one tenth inspiration, nine-tenths perspiration" aspect of the writing process. This was an interesting and easily read essay but doesn't constitute a story, in my opinion. But is writer's pub just for fiction? Maybe not...... |

The writer gives dimension to the character and I understood, in a few brief words, how the character feels and where the story would lead. Would the feelings be too personal and intense in the first person?
Keep writing, you have talent.... |

I love metaphors. They take something we understand and apply it to something else in our life so we can understand that too. The best metaphors stay with us - we quote them over and over in casual conversation, "You know, like shooting for the moon and landing among the stars." That's exactly what Augustin has done here, and for me, he's captured just exactly the cocaine-love-high that happens when we start to write. This is one that will stay with you and that you will quote again and again. I'm very impressed.... |

short, punchy lines, but love? where's the beef here? or do you really mean "lust" ... metaphorically a bit like any shallow short term relationship even though the ending promises longer term commitment. who is your audience? starbuck singles? when you had the opportunity to stretch out with words into a more mature, longer sentence, using clauses to amplify the core idea, you lost the passion, and as you tell it, the ability to make love -- or to seduce and enjoy the pleasure of your companion.... |

I really like this piece. It speaks to how and why we write and what happens in the process. Writing a story is like falling in love. Finding that balance between infatuation and true love is always the challenge. ... |
