This is a great story. I enjoyed reading it. There are some run-on sentences you need to crop down a bit, and a few grammatical errors to clean up. Reread it aloud, sometimes that helps me hear where the glitches are. The imagery is good, and the emotion you create strong. You just need to polish this a bit to bring out its full potential.
